Madalina, “The Suicide” is a haunting and beautiful piece of art that will make for a smashing book cover for Darcie Friesen Hossack’s collection of short stories, “Mennonites Don’t Dance.” I have been very much looking forward to the release of Hossack’s stories this September and seeing the gorgeous book cover has added to the anticipation!

Madalina – we (in Darcie’s writing group) have been raving to each other and Darcie about her new and stunning book cover, “The Suicide.” What a beautiful yet haunting piece of art. We are eagerly awaiting the release of Mennonites Don’t Dance and even more so now that Darcie’s words seem to have found a proper home, bound by your exquisite talent, a refuge from the ordinary. Your work is more than compelling, an irresistible drug and a piercing representation of what we can only dare to hope for in a book. Your artistic skill, intertwined with Darcie’s literary talent, is a rare gift, a peek into the unknown, and the sometimes unspeakable moments of life. Surprises abound in the stories and cover, yet, peace resonates, deeply satisfying in all its splendour and sadness.

Congratulations to you and Darcie for an extraordinary collaboration of art.
